Please be aware that GP Practices are only vaccinating patients aged 80 and over and those who are house bound. All other patients aged under 80 who are normally eligible for the flu vaccination will be invited to attend a Mass Vaccination Centre. We kindly ask that you await communication from the Scottish Government and do not telephone the practice regarding these vaccinations. Thank you, South Beach Medical Centre.

Please be advised that from Monday 11th October, keeping in line with our appointment system, our telephone lines will open from 8.30am instead of 8am.

Before attending the surgery we kindly request that you do a lateral flow test. Please do not attend if it is positive, let us know, isolate & book a PCR test.

Our GP appointment system is initially a telephone triage appointment followed by a face to appointment if deemed clinically necessary by your GP.

We are experiencing a significant increase in people contacting the practice on a daily basis with a large proportion of patients requiring face to face appointments. This has gone from circa 150 calls a day before the pandemic to now sometimes in excess of 500 a day. The knock on effect of the pandemic, and reduction in other services, also means patients are turning to their local GP practices in greater numbers to manage their condition. Our practice staff are prioritising those in most clinical need for urgent on the day presentations and doing their very best to answer all these calls but on occasions this just isn’t possible. This is understandably very frustrating for patients as well as our GP practice staff, particularly as we are also experiencing staff shortages due to infection or being identified as a close contact.

We are reaching out to ask that you are patient, respectful and courteous to all our staff as we are doing the very best we can.

Monday - Friday 8am - 5.30pm and we are closed everyday between 1 - 2pm.

The next PLT is on date to be confirmed
If you require urgent medical attention during this time which cannot wait until the following day, please telephone the Ayrshire Urgent Care Service on 01563 826930. They will provide a clinical assessment if required and if you need to be seen by a GP, your GP Practice will contact you directly.
